Anti-HOXA1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein homeobox A1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 335 amino acid residues and a mass of 36.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the Antp homeobox protein family, HOXA1 is known to be involved with the morphogenesis of anatomical structure and ear development. The HOXA1 gene has been associated with the disease, Athabaskan brainstem dysgenesis syndrome. Synonyms for this target antigen include HOX1, homeobox protein Hox-A1, HOX A1 homeodomain protein, Hox 1.6-like protein, and BSAS. HOXA1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of HOXA1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
