Anti-Histone deacetylase 2 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene HDAC2 in humans. The gene may also be known as HD2, RPD3, KDAC2, YAF1, YY1-associated factor 1, and transcriptional regulator homolog RPD3. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 55.4 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, plant, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
