Anti-FABP6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein fatty acid binding protein 6. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 128 amino acid residues and a mass of 14.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane and cytoplasm. It is notably expressed in the small intestine. A member of the Fatty-acid binding protein (FABP) protein family, FABP6 is known to bind to bile acids and is involved in enterohepatic bile acid metabolism. Synonyms for this target antigen include I-BABP, I-BALB, I-BAP, ILBP, ILBP3, ILLBP, gastrotropin, and I-15P. FABP6 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of FABP6 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. ELISA, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for these antibodies.
