Anti-ACAA2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein acetyl-CoA acyltransferase 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 397 amino acid residues and a mass of 41.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Thiolase protein family, ACAA2 is known to be involved with the cellular response to hypoxia and cholesterol metabolism and homeostasis. Synonyms for this target antigen include 3-ketoacyl-CoA thiolase, mitochondrial, T1, acetyl-CoA acetyltransferase, acetyl-Coenzyme A acyltransferase 2, acyl-CoA hydrolase, mitochondrial, and DSAEC. ACAA2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of ACAA2 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
