Anti-ECM antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the ECM antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the MMRN1 gene, which encodes multimerin 1. This protein is known to function in cell adhesion, among other biological roles. The human version of ECM has a canonical amino acid length of 1228 residues and a protein mass of 138.1 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be a secreted protein that is notably expressed in the skin, gallbladder, cerebral cortex, breast, and bone marrow. Other names for this target antigen include EMILIN4 and GPIa*. Indicated applications for ECM antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry.
