Anti-Galectin 3 binding protein antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene LGALS3BP in humans. The gene may also be known as 90K, CyCAP, lectin, galactoside binding soluble 3 binding protein, MAC-2-BP, L3 antigen, and BTBD17B. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 65.3 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
