Anti-PRTN3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein proteinase 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 256 amino acid residues and a mass of 27.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane, cytoplasm, and is secreted. It is reported to be expressed in polymorphonuclear leukocytes. A member of the Peptidase S1 protein family, PRTN3 is reported to be a serine protease that degrades elastin, fibronectin, laminin, vitronectin, and collagen types I, III, and IV (in vitro). Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation.
The PRTN3 marker can be used to identify Promyelocytes.* Synonyms for this target antigen include AGP7, C-ANCA, CANCA, MBN, MBT, NP-4, NP4, and ACPA. PRTN3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. A number of PRTN3 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
