Anti-DNA Ligase 3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the LIG3 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1009 amino acid residues and a mass of 112.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. A member of the ATP-dependent DNA ligase protein family, it is known to be involved with the cell cycle. Other names for this target antigen include LIG3alpha, MTDPS20, ligase II, DNA, ATP-dependent, ligase III, DNA, ATP-dependent, polydeoxyribonucleotide synthase [ATP] 3, and LIG2.
