Anti-MutL homolog 1 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene MLH1 in humans. The gene may also be known as COCA2, FCC2, HNPCC, HNPCC2, DNA mismatch repair protein Mlh1, and mutL homolog 1, colon cancer, nonpolyposis type 2. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 84.6 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, yeast, plant, fly, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
