Anti-Major histocompatibility complex, class I, G antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene HLA-G in humans. The gene may also be known as MHC-G, HLA class I histocompatibility antigen, alpha chain G, and HLA G antigen. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 38.2 kilodaltons in mass. The HLA-G marker can be used to identify Extravillous Interstitial Trophoblasts, Extravillous Trophoblasts (EVT), and Extravillous Endovascular Trophoblasts .* Based on gene name, monkey orthologs may also be found.
