Anti-I KAPPA B-ALPHA antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target I KAPPA B-ALPHA is a known alias name of the protein NFKB inhibitor alpha, encoded by the NFKBIA gene in humans. This 317-amino acid residue protein is reported to inhibit the activity of dimeric NF-kappa-B/REL complexes by trapping REL dimers in the cytoplasm through masking of their nuclear localization signals. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell and features ubiquitinated, sumoylated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for I KAPPA B-ALPHA include EDAID2, IKBA, and MAD-3.
