Anti-PLAAT1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein phospholipase A and acyltransferase 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 168 amino acid residues and a mass of 18.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the H-rev107 protein family, PLAAT1 is known to be involved with lens fiber cell differentiation and the metabolism of lipids. Synonyms for this target antigen include HRAS like suppressor, HRAS-like suppressor 1, phospholipase A/acyltransferase 1, phospholipid-metabolizing enzyme A-C1, and H-REV107 protein-related protein. PLAAT1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
