Anti-IHO1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein interactor of HORMAD1 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 594 amino acid residues and a mass of 66.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the chromosomes. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the testis. IHO1 is known to be required for DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) formation in unsynapsed regions during meiotic recombination. Synonyms for this target antigen include cancer/testis antigen 74, coiled-coil domain containing 36, coiled-coil domain-containing protein 36, and interactor of HORMAD1 protein 1. IHO1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
