Anti-CEP20 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein centrosomal protein 20. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 174 amino acid residues and a mass of 19.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is widely expressed across many tissue types. A member of the CEP43 protein family, CEP20 is reported to be involved in biogenesis of cilia. Synonyms for this target antigen include FOP-related protein of 20 kDa, lisH domain-containing protein C16orf63, lisH domain-containing protein FOPNL, pluripotent embryonic stem cell-related protein, and FGFR1OP N-terminal like. CEP20 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
