Anti-CERT1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein ceramide transporter 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 624 amino acid residues and a mass of 70.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the ER, Golgi, and cytoplasm. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is widely expressed across many tissue types. CERT1 is known to be involved with cell proliferation and immune response pathways. Post-translational modifications have been described, including phosphorylation. The CERT1 gene has been associated with the disease, Intellectual developmental disorder. Synonyms for this target antigen include CERTL, COL4A3BP, GPBP, MRD34, STARD11, and CERT. CERT1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species.
