Anti-PZP alpha-2-macroglobulin like antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the PZP gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1482 amino acid residues and a mass of 163.9 kDa. It is known to be a secreted protein. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. It is notably expressed in plasma. It is a member of the Protease inhibitor I39 (alpha-2-macroglobulin) protein family. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Other names for this target antigen include pregnancy zone protein, C3 and PZP-like alpha-2-macroglobulin domain-containing protein 6, pregnancy-zone protein, and CPAMD6.
