Anti-UCHL5 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein ubiquitin C-terminal hydrolase L5. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 329 amino acid residues and a mass of 37.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Peptidase C12 protein family, UCHL5 is a reported protease that specifically cleaves 'Lys-48'-linked polyubiquitin chains. Synonyms for this target antigen include INO80R, UCH37, ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase isozyme L5, INO80 complex subunit R, and CGI-70. UCHL5 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of UCHL5 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
