Anti-Cystatin SN antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the CST1 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 141 amino acid residues and a mass of 16.4 kDa. It is known to be a secreted protein. It is reported to be expressed in submandibular and sublingual saliva but not in parotid saliva. It is a member of the Cystatin protein family. Other names for this target antigen include cystatin 1, cystatin SA-I, cysteine proteinase inhibitor, type 2 family, salivary cystatin-SA-1, and cystain-SA-I. A number of Cystatin SN antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. ELISA is a widely used application for these antibodies. Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
