Anti-NDP52 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the NDP52 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the CALCOCO2 gene, which encodes calcium binding and coiled-coil domain 2. This protein is known to be a xenophagy-specific receptor required for autophagy-mediated intracellular bacteria degradation. The human version of NDP52 has a canonical amino acid length of 446 residues and a protein mass of 52.3 kilodaltons, although 5 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the membrane, nucleus, cytoplasmic vesicles, and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the bone marrow, urinary bladder, and appendix.
