Anti-Oligodendrocyte transcription factor 2 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene OLIG2 in humans. The gene may also be known as Oligo2, BHLHB1, PRKCBP2, RACK17, basic domain, helix-loop-helix protein, class B, 1, and class B basic helix-loop-helix protein 1. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 32.4 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
