Anti-Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene EIF4E in humans. The gene may also be known as mRNA cap-binding protein, EIF4E1, AUTS19, CBP, EIF4EL1, and eIF-4F 25 kDa subunit. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 25.1 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, plant, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
