Anti-galectin 9B antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the LGALS9B gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 356 amino acid residues and a mass of 39.7 kDa. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. It is known to bind galactosides. Other names for this target antigen include galectin-9 like, galectin-9 pseudogene, galectin-9-like protein A, lectin, galactoside-binding, soluble, 9B, and gal-9B.
