Anti-Heme oxygenase 1 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene HMOX1 in humans. The gene may also be known as HO1, HSP32, HMOX1D, HO-1, bK286B10, and heat shock protein, 32-kD. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 32.8 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
