Anti-PPM1E antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein protein phosphatase, Mg2+/Mn2+ dependent 1E. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 755 amino acid residues and a mass of 84 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the hippocampus, cerebral cortex, cerebellum, caudate, and adrenal gland. A member of the PP2C protein family, PPM1E is reported to be a protein phosphatase that inactivates multifunctional CaM kinases such as CAMK4 and CAMK2 (By similarity). Synonyms for this target antigen include CaMKP-N, POPX1, PP2CH, caMKN, protein phosphatase 1E, and CAMKPN. PPM1E gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some PPM1E antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunocytochemistry, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
