Anti-sarcoglycan, beta antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The sarcoglycan, beta antigen is another term for the human protein sarcoglycan beta, encoded by the SGCB gene. The protein is a known component of the sarcoglycan complex, a subcomplex of the dystrophin-glycoprotein complex which forms a link between the F-actin cytoskeleton and the extracellular matrix. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 318 residues and a mass of 34.8 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane and cytoplasm and it is reported to be highly expressed in the heart and skeletal muscle. The sarcoglycan, beta protein is a member of the Sarcoglycan beta/delta/gamma/zeta protein family.
