Anti-calmodulin like 3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the CALML3 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 149 amino acid residues and a mass of 16.9 kDa. It is reported to be expressed in normal mammary, prostate, cervical, and epidermal tissues. A member of the Calmodulin protein family, it is believed to function as a a specific light chain of unconventional myosin-10 (MYO10), also enhances MYO10 translation, possibly by acting as a chaperone for the emerging MYO10 heavy chain protein. Other names for this target antigen include calmodulin-like protein 3, caM-like protein, calmodulin-related protein NB-1, and CLP.
