Anti-Karyopherin subunit alpha 2 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene KPNA2 in humans. The gene may also be known as Importin alpha 1, karyopherin alpha 2 (RAG cohort 1, importin alpha 1), IPOA1, QIP2, RCH1, SRP1-alpha, and importin subunit alpha-1. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 57.9 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, fly, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
