Anti-dynactin subunit 4 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the DCTN4 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 460 amino acid residues and a mass of 52.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 3 different isoforms for this protein. A member of the Dynactin subunit 4 protein family, it is known to be a part of the dynactin complex that activates the molecular motor dynein for ultra-processive transport along microtubules. Other names for this target antigen include P62, dynactin 4 (p62), dynactin p62 subunit, dynactin subunit p62, and DYN4.
