Anti-fumarase antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the fumarase antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the FH gene, which encodes fumarate hydratase. This protein is known to function in DNA damage pathways and DNA repair, among other biological roles. The human version of fumarase has a canonical amino acid length of 510 residues and a protein mass of 54.6 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus, mitochondria, and cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include FMRD, HLRCC, and HsFH. Western Blot is the most common application for the fumarase antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
