Anti-GCNT3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein glucosaminyl (N-acetyl) transferase 3, mucin type. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 438 amino acid residues and a mass of 50.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the golgi. It is notably expressed in mucus-secreting tissues. A member of a the Glycosyltransferase 14 protein family, GCNT3 is a reported glycosyltransferase that can synthesize all known mucin beta 6 N-acetylglucosaminides. Post-translational modifications have been described, including N-glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include C24GNT, C2GNT2, C2GNTM, GNTM, beta-1,3-galactosyl-O-glycosyl-glycoprotein beta-1,6-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase 3, and C2/4GnT.
