Anti-PTDSS1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein phosphatidylserine synthase 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 473 amino acid residues and a mass of 55.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the ER. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 3 different isoforms for this protein. A member of a the Phosphatidyl serine synthase protein family, PTDSS1 is known to catalyze a base-exchange reaction in which the polar head group of phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) or phosphatidylcholine (PC) is replaced by L-serine. Synonyms for this target antigen include PSS1, PSSA, PSS-1, ptdSer synthase 1, serine-exchange enzyme I, and LMHD.
