Anti-MAF bZIP transcription factor B antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene MAFB in humans. The gene may also be known as kr, MCTO, v-maf musculoaponeurotic fibrosarcoma oncogene homolog B (avian), DURS3, KRML, and transcription factor MafB. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 35.8 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
