Anti-FTO alpha-ketoglutarate dependent dioxygenase antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene FTO in humans. The gene may also be known as ALKBH9, BMIQ14, GDFD, alpha-ketoglutarate-dependent dioxygenase FTO, and AlkB homolog 9. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 58.3 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
