Anti-Protein arginine methyltransferase 8 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene PRMT8 in humans. The gene may also be known as HRMT1L3, HRMT1L4, protein arginine N-methyltransferase 8, and HMT1 hnRNP methyltransferase-like 3. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 45.3 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, fly, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
