Anti-SLC4A5 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein solute carrier family 4 member 5. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1137 amino acid residues and a mass of 126.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Up to 8 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the Anion exchanger (TC 2.A.31) protein family, SLC4A5 is known to mediate sodium- and bicarbonate-dependent electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransport, with a Na(+):HCO3(-) stoichiometry varying from 1:2 to 1:3. Synonyms for this target antigen include solute carrier family 4 (sodium bicarbonate cotransporter), member 5, and electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter 4. SLC4A5 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of SLC4A5 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
