Anti-DNA methyltransferase 1 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene DNMT1 in humans. The gene may also be known as DNA, ADCADN, AIM, CXXC9, DNMT, DNA (cytosine-5)-methyltransferase 1, and CXXC-type zinc finger protein 9. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 183.2 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
