Anti-WT1 transcription factor antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene WT1 in humans. The gene may also be known as Wilms Tumor 1, AWT1, EWS-WT1, GUD, Wilms tumor protein, and NPHS4. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 49.2 kilodaltons in mass. The WT1 marker can be used to identify Mesothelial Cells and Visceral Pleura Mesothelial Cells.* Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
