Anti-Fc fragment of IgE receptor Ia antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene FCER1A in humans. The gene may also be known as Fc epsilon RI alpha, FCE1A, FcERI, high affinity immunoglobulin epsilon receptor subunit alpha, and Fc IgE receptor, alpha polypeptide. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 29.6 kilodaltons in mass. The FCER1A marker can be used to identify Type 2 Dendritic (DC2) Cells, Type 3 Dendritic (DC3) Cells, and Early Megakaryocytes (MK).* Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
