Anti-Prohibitin antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene PHB in humans. The Prohibitin protein has an expected mass of 29.8 kDa, but there are 2 reported isoforms. The protein may also be known as Bap32, PHB1, HEL-215, HEL-S-54e, epididymis luminal protein 215, and epididymis secretory sperm binding protein Li 54e. Variants of this antigen may also be found in other species, including plant, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat.
