Anti-ATAD2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein ATPase family AAA domain containing 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1390 amino acid residues and a mass of 158.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in estrogen receptor positive breast tumors and in osteosarcoma tumors. A member of the AAA ATPase protein family, Atad2 is believed to be a transcriptional coactivator of the nuclear receptor ESR1 required to induce the expression of a subset of estradiol target genes, such as CCND1, MYC and E2F1. Synonyms for this target antigen include CT137, PRO2000, ATPase family AAA domain-containing protein 2, AAA nuclear coregulator cancer-associated protein, and ANCCA. ATAD2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of Atad2 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies.
