Anti-Derlin 2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the DERL2 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 239 amino acid residues and a mass of 27.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the ER. It is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. A member of the Derlin protein family, it is reported to be a functional component of endoplasmic reticulum-associated degradation (ERAD) for misfolded lumenal glycoproteins, but not that of misfolded nonglycoproteins. Other names for this target antigen include DERtrin-2, F-LAN-1, F-LANa, FLANa, Der1-like domain family, member 2, and CGI-101.
