Anti-HPC-1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target HPC-1 is a known alias name of the protein syntaxin 1A, encoded by the STX1A gene in humans. This 288-amino acid residue protein is known to play an important role in hormone and neurotransmitter calcium-dependent exocytosis and endocytosis. It is localized to the cytoplasmic vesicles and cell membrane of the cell and features sumoylated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in the hippocampus, colon, cerebral cortex, cerebellum, and caudate. The term P35-1 is another synonym for HPC-1. Western Blot is the most common application for the HPC-1 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
