Anti-LRSAM1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein leucine rich repeat and sterile alpha motif containing 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 723 amino acid residues and a mass of 83.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in adult spinal cord motoneurons as well as in fetal spinal cord and muscle tissue. LRSAM1 is known to be involved with autophagy pathways and protein ubiquitination. The LRSAM1 gene has been associated with the disease, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. Synonyms for this target antigen include RING finger leucine repeat rich, RING-type E3 ubiquitin transferase LRSAM1, Tsg101-associated ligase, and E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase LRSAM1. LRSAM1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of LRSAM1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
