Anti-Rhodopsin antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene RHO in humans. The gene may also be known as RH1, CSNBAD1, OPN2, RP4, opsin 2, rod pigment, and opsin-2. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 38.9 kilodaltons in mass. The RHO marker can be used to identify Eye Photoreceptor Cells.* Based on gene name, E. coli, fly, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
