Anti-TSSK4 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein testis specific serine kinase 4. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 328 amino acid residues and a mass of 37.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasmic vesicles. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is found to be preferentially expressed in the testis. A member of the CAMK Ser/Thr protein kinase protein family, TSSK4 is known to be a serine/threonine kinase that is involved in male germ cell development and in mature sperm function (By similarity). Post-translational modifications have been described, including ubiquitination and phosphorylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include serine/threonine kinase 22E, serine/threonine-protein kinase 22E, and testis-specific serine/threonine-protein kinase 4. TSSK4 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. Some TSSK4 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
