Anti-GAL9 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target GAL9 is a known alias name of the protein galectin 9, encoded by the LGALS9 gene in humans. This 355-amino acid residue protein is known to bind galactosides (PubMed:18005988). It is localized to the nucleus, cytoplasm, and is secreted of the cell. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for GAL9 include HUAT, LGALS9A, and ecalectin. Western Blot is the most common application for the GAL9 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
