Anti-MU1B antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the MU1B antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the AP1M2 gene, which encodes adaptor related protein complex 1 subunit mu 2. This protein is known to function in vesicle-mediated transport, among other biological roles. The human version of MU1B has a canonical amino acid length of 423 residues and a protein mass of 48.1 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasmic vesicles, Golgi, and membrane of cells. Other names for this target antigen include AP1-mu2, HSMU1B, and MU-1B.
