Anti-MOPD2 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target MOPD2 is a known alias name of the protein pericentrin, encoded by the PCNT gene in humans. This 3336-amino acid residue protein is reported to be an integral component of the filamentous matrix of the centrosome involved in the initial establishment of organized microtubule arrays in both mitosis and meiosis. It is localized to the cytoplasm of the cell and features ubiquitinated and cleaved post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in all tissues tested, including placenta, liver, kidney and thymus. Other synonyms for MOPD2 include KEN and PCN.
