Infinite 200Pro - M Plex

We use the Tecan Infinite M Plex (Tecan i-control , 2.0.10.0) on a regular basis for a wide range of fluorescence and absorbance assays, particularly in the context of cell-based experiments. The instrument is routinely used for ELISA and absorbance-based assays, as well as for fluorescence measurements using fluorescent probes and markers. Its versatility allowed us to perform different types of plate-based assays on a consistent basis, making it a useful instrument for our day-to-day experimental workflow.

Performance, Range, and Accuracy

The instrument delivered reproducible fluorescence measurements across a broad dynamic range, detecting signals from low-background controls (~100-500 RFU) up to highly fluorescent samples exceeding 40,000 RFU without saturation. For example, it resolved serial dilutions of Lucifer Yellow and 70 kDa dextran tracers, providing accurate quantification of permeability and barrier integrity endpoints with low well-to-well variability (example1 of triplicates: 507-532-577; example 2: 492-496-497).

Throughput, Workflow Efficiency, and Automation

The instrument enables rapid analysis of fluorescence-based assays in 384-well plate formats, with complete plate reads performed in under one minute and minimal hands-on intervention.

Sample integrity is preserved as measurements are non-destructive and require no direct contact with the sample. Consumable requirements are limited primarily to compatible microplates and assay-specific reagents, resulting in relatively low ongoing operating costs compared with more complex analytical platforms.

The instrument has a moderate benchtop footprint and requires only standard laboratory infrastructure, including a stable power supply and a clean, temperature-controlled environment. Routine maintenance is minimal and consists mainly of periodic cleaning, calibration verification, and performance checks.
