We use the Pierce BCA Protein Assay Kit to quantify total protein in lysates from primary mouse astrocytes and other brain-derived cell samples. Protein concentrations are determined before Western blotting to ensure consistent protein loading across experimental groups. Tips

Prepare a fresh BSA standard curve for each experiment and run standards and samples in replicates. Samples should be diluted when necessary to ensure that absorbance values fall within the standard curve. Consistent pipetting is particularly important for obtaining reproducible results.
